Application in the data centers
Data centers require a continuous power supply and exceptional reliability. At the same time, electricity costs represent a considerable proportion of operational costs for data centers. Operators have to optimize energy costs, reduce CO2 emissions whilst maximizing operational efficiency.
The UMG 800 can help implement accurate monitoring of energy consumption at all levels in modern data centers. The UMG 800 plays a central role particularly in feeder measurements on power distribution units (PDUs) and remote power panels (RPPs).
Further highlights for data transmission
Modbus TCP/IP gateway for up to 31 modbus RTU slaves
The UMG 800 as a gateway enables up to 31 additional devices to be integrated into the system, making monitoring and controlling simpler. This provides a better overview and simpler data exchange whilst reducing the complexity of device integration and improving network performance.
Modbus white listing
Modbus white listing is key to improving operational safety and ensuring that data integrity is protected. This function makes it possible to monitor data traffic and only ensure that approved devices and communication requests are granted access whilst potentially hazardous or unauthorized accesses are blocked.
Data memory
The 4 GB internal memory allows for critical measurement data to be saved, including 200 ms min/max values. This is particularly important so that load peaks can be detected quickly, preventing costly downtime. Gridded average values and sliding mean values mean long-term trends can be detected at an early stage, helping with preventative maintenance and optimization of energy consumption.
