MID-energy meter and measurement system MID-Energiezähler (ohne M-Bus)

MID-Energy meters

MID-compliant energy meters measure active electrical energy. They enable precise consumption monitoring in electrical installations and provide a reliable basis for cost center analysis, energy management, and billing.

ENERGY MANAGEMENT

Reliable, transparent consumption monitoring

Billing

Legally compliant metering and billing

CERTIFICATION

MID- and IEC-certified

Fair costs, efficient energy use—both are achievable together

Whether it’s a shopping centre, airport, hotel or office building, property managers often face the same challenge: using energy more efficiently while allocating costs transparently among tenants and consumption points. MID energy meters support both goals by accurately measuring electricity consumption and making the readings available for further analysis.

The meters enable structured cost-centre analysis, making it possible to assign consumption readings to individual tenants or user groups. Energy waste can be identified more quickly because unusual consumption is recorded centrally and linked to specific measurement points.

MID energy meters are primarily used to measure active and reactive energy. Their pulse outputs can transmit energy pulses to a building management system or a higher-level system.

Main features of MID energy meters

MID energy meters support standards-compliant, traceable measurement of electrical energy. They are used wherever consumption readings need to be reliably documented and used for billing, reporting or energy management. Thanks to their MID certification, they are suitable for applications requiring legally compliant consumption metering.

MID

MID stands for “Measuring Instruments Directive” and refers to the European directive on measuring instruments. It establishes harmonised requirements for measuring instruments and approval procedures across the European market. For operators, this means that MID-certified energy meters can be used wherever traceable, legally compliant consumption metering is required.
