The FBM10 series is an inexpensive alternative to the WAGO I/O system. All FBM10 modules have an RS-485 interface with the Modbus RTU protocol and can be used as slaves to UMG 604-PRO, UMG 605-PRO, UMG 508, UMG 509-PRO, UMG 511 and UMG 512-PRO series devices. The devices of the UMG 104 and UMG 507 series cannot be used as masters for the FBM10 modules.

Main features

RS-485 interface

Many UMG measurement devices have an RS-485 interface with Modbus RTU protocol, which enables extremely cost-effective networking. It is characterized by a simple topology structure and insensitivity to EMC interference. Communication between the transmitter and receiver is wired via a shielded, twisted pair cable.

GridVis®

GridVis® is a comprehensive and scalable software for setting up an energy monitoring system and for monitoring power quality. It is used for programming and configuring many UMG measurement devices as well as for reading, processing and analyzing measurement data. Typical applications are energy supply, industrial plants, facility management, etc.

Thermistor input

The integrated thermistor input for thermocouples (PT 100/1000, KTY 83 or 84) can be used in a variety of ways. In addition to current and voltage monitoring, sensitive system components can also be protected, e.g. transformer temperature. Typical areas of application are temperature monitoring in low-voltage main distribution boards, transformers or server cabinets.

Reporting

An important part of grid analysis is GridVis® report generation. It provides a quick and clear representation of the power quality in defined periods of time. The power quality reports are based on international standards (EN 50160, EN 61000-2-4, IEEE 519, etc.). In addition to the PQ reports, energy consumption reports are of great benefit to the user. Generation and dispatch can take place automatically based on freely definable schedules.

Decentralized I/O fieldbus modules FBM10 series

  • RS-485 interface
  • Protocol, Modbus RTU
  • Can be used as a slave device to the UMG 604-PRO, UMG 605-PRO, UMG 508, UMG 509-PRO, UMG 511 and UMG 512-PRO series measurement devices
  • Connection also possible over a distance of up to 1,000 m to the RS-485 Modbus master interface of the device; either via Profibus cable or, for example, a cable of type Li2YCY(TP) 2 x 2 x 0.22
  • Modules are available fully configured and programmed according to the selected measurement device

Using FBM10I and FBM10R modules

  • Combination of different input and output signals for distribution to the corresponding subscribers
  • To use the fieldbus modules, a connection is required to the respective Modbus master from the UMG 604-PRO, UMG 605-PRO, UMG 508, UMG 509-PRO, UMG 511 or UMG 512-PRO device series
  • All data points integrated into the Janitza system
  • Acquisition of various performance characteristics such as process data, statuses, error messages, limit values, alarm outputs, etc.
  • Archiving and visualization via the GridVis® software

Using FBM10PT1000 modules

  • Temperature fieldbus module
  • Recording of up to 10 temperature measurements (e.g. via PT100 or PT1000)
  • The measured values are recorded and visualized using a UMG 604-PRO, UMG 605-PRO, UMG 508, UMG 509-PRO, UMG 511 or UMG 512-PRO and a required extension
