Extensive energy measurement data, high accuracy: 0.5S active energy

The UMG 96RM multifunctional meter is primarily designed for use in low-voltage and medium-voltage distribution systems. The device measures harmonics currents up to the 40th harmonic and has rotating field components. The device has up to four digital inputs and six digital outputs. The measurement data storage is 256 MB.

Main features

Memory

Many UMG measurement devices have their own memory with typical record ranges of up to 2 years. Recording is freely configurable. A 128 MByte memory can store around 5,000,000 memory values, a 256 MByte memory can store around 10,000,000 memory values.

Tariffs

The UMG measurement devices offer an extensive selection of tariffs for the reliable and precise recording of work values for individual consumers; up to 14 depending on the device type. Of course, a distinction is made between active energy (consumption, supply and without reverse running stop) and reactive energy (inductive, capacitive and without reverse running stop). This means that high and low tariffs can be recorded separately, for example.

Harmonics

Harmonics currents are caused by equipment with non-linear characteristics, such as transformers operated in saturation, energy-saving lamps, frequency converters, and power electronics. They load the grid with additional currents and can affect or even destroy equipment. These grid distortions can be detected and documented using power quality analyzers.

Pulse input/output

Pulse inputs can be used to record the values of water and gas meters with UMG measurement devices, for example. The working pulses can be transmitted to a control system, e.g. BMS, PLC, SCADA systems, via pulse outputs as measured value transmitters.

Measuring accuracy

The high measuring accuracy is based on the high sampling rate and very good long-term stability. When used as intended (ambient temperature!), the measuring accuracy is still greater than that of conventional meters in delivery condition, even after many years. Class A certified devices are available for particularly demanding measuring tasks.

Areas of application

  • Measurement, monitoring and control of electrical characteristics in energy distribution systems.
  • Recording of load profiles for energy management systems (e.g. ISO 50001)
  • Recording energy consumption for cost center analysis
  • Transducer for building management system or PLC (Modbus)
