The safe and versatile moulded case current transformers class 0.5 ... / 5 A are used for the detection and further processing of high currents. Price strength and high safety are among the main features of these transformers.
Versatility & increased safety
When high currents need to be recorded and processed, plug-in current transformer are used. The conductor to be measured (busbar or cable) is fed through the window opening and forms the primary circuit of the plug-in current transformer.
Current transformer are mainly used for mounting on busbars. Drop resistance is achieved through additional encapsulation as well as higher shock and vibration resistance under mechanical stress (IEC 68). This is the most common and most cost-effective type of current transformer, but the primary conductor must be interrupted during installation. In other words, this type of transformer is mainly used for new installations.
Features
Increased safety
- Both halves of the housing overlap and are not butted on top of each other
- Break-proof plastic housing made of polyamide
- Flame retardant according to UL 94 VO and self-extinguishing
Protective caps for primary rail fastening screws
- Screw bolts of the primary rail terminals can be insulated using optionally available protective caps
- Protection against accidental contact
Secondary connection feeds
- Feed the secondary cable to the connection terminals through the rectangular opening at the front and rear
- During assembly, e.g. behind fuse strips, the secondary connection is made using cable lugs through the side slots
Extended secondary terminal cover
- In addition to the standard terminal cover, protective covers are also available
- Closure of the front and rear feed to the secondary terminals
